Here and There: Part 3

Sunday

We're in Olympia. The boat is in Olympia.

The truck is still in the Des Moines Marina parking lot. Our plan was to pick up the truck on Monday by catching the 8:40a Amtrak from Olympia/Lacey to Tukwila near SEA-TAC. We would be catching two Lyft rides.

I checked to see how much a Lyft from Olympia to Des Moines would be. It was almost the same as what we were paying, not counting the tips. I mentioned this to The Man.

Thirty minutes later we were heading north on I-5 with our Lyft driver, Richard.

The Des Moines Marina and Waterfront was very nice, the rest of the area not too much.

The sign reads,  "Designated Prostitution Vehicle Impound Area".

Here and There: Part 2

So. Yes. I flew home to Atascadero last Sunday.

The next day, Monday, The Man got a call from Swantown Marina in Olympia with an offer of a permanent slip. We were on the Waitlist expecting a waiting time of one to three years. The Marina office said three 44' slips were available so The Man immediately drove down to Olympia.

He selected a slip and signed us up. I offered to make the two day journey with him. We would be visiting Gig Harbor first.

The Flight Back

Thursday 7a to 2p

Two Lyft rides and an easy flight from SLO to SEA-TAC.

I arranged to get to the airport early. I was the only one there.

I knit for several hours while waiting for my delayed flight to board.

Kristin, my seatmate (who went to photography school), took beautiful aerial pics as we flew over Seattle.

The Man was waiting on the curb when Richard, the Lyft driver, brought me back to Des Moines Marina.

Here and There

I flew home last Sunday. There were a few electrical and plumbing issues that needed to be attended to on Star and rather than The Man drive home and return in a few weeks I told him I'd fly home. I am pretty sure he was relieved at my decision.

Sunday 4:55a

The Man walked with me to catch my Lyft ride at 5a. (I reassured him several times that he did not need to accompany me to the airport.)

All of my belongings were left with The Man to be brought home in the Camper. I only carried my essentials: the laptop, knitting needles, and my WIP sock.

Yesterday, I flew back. The Man was prepped and ready to go. As soon as I arrived via Lyft we untied the boat and left the harbor for Olympia, our new Homeport.
