Goodies

The Man came home last Sunday. He did a little gift shopping for me in WA:

Yeager's Sporting Goods, Bellingham

Sluy's Bakery, Poulsbo

Orcas Island fridge magnet

Skagit Woolen Works, Mount Vernon (open Wednesdays for in-person shopping)

Rosie, the 1922 Carding machine

Rosie swag: Large and small zippered totes, Chocolate brown sweatshirt, and stickers.

 Local fiber

I even received a text from the Mill:

Yes, We Did

A month ago Rusty, our neighbor, texted a pic of the elk they saw.

Today we were able to text him a pic back.

I took an iPhone pic with my not-the-greatest binoculars.

8:19 am

It was very exciting to see an elk in the neighborhood. Ah-mazing.

Rerouted

The Man will be home tomorrow.

He usually drives I-5 south and then takes Hwy 41/46 west.

Tomorrow he is going to take a different route.

Short Shorties

I have been wearing the summer socks I knit with the rolled cuff. I tweaked the cuff length a wee bit for the second sock (black edge) and like the fit better. I am using leftover Regia wool yarn from my previous knit socks. Even on the very hot days the wool socks feel more comfortable than the cotton socks I tried.

Almost finished with the second pair.

Short Shorties:

Cuff down vanilla sock with rolled cuff, Fish Lips Kiss Heel, and round toe.

Washington Skies

The Man has been camping under the smoky skies of Washington state.

Catching Up

The pile of Charity Scarves has been growing larger and larger each week. This afternoon I took the scarves outside to work on them.

Each scarf is carefully checked, missed ends woven in, then the signed gift tags are attached.

Tomorrow I will take an accurate count while I fill the boxes for mailing. Today I am just happy to have a scarf-free dining table.

Stay Cool

It was a hot weekend; fans, a tray of ice cubes, and wet washcloths seem to help.
