Last Piece

We finished the jigsaw puzzle that The Man purchased from Fidalgo Fiber Arts in Anacortes. He always has the honor of placing the last piece.

We started the puzzle in July when The Man's Mom visited, without her help it was slow going.

Slim Pickings

We hired Gaspar to weed whack the property again this year. It took him a total of seven days over two weeks to work the entire property. He does such a thorough job he leaves nothing but dirt.

Under the Broiler

We have a heat lamp set up for Mattie in the garage.

It was chilly today so everyone took a turn being under the Broiler.

Springlike

The sun was already up when I stepped outside the door this morning.

I let the goats out of the pen, cleaned the goat house, and fed the animals.

It feels like spring - a breezy 60°- as I settled down outside with my daily notebook and a cup of coffee.

Best Case Scenario

I stand well away from the water spray and stinkiness emanating from the open hole of the septic. The dirty water has begun to slurp down the filter-less pipe, flowing onward to the leach field.

The Man holds up the slimy blackened septic filter and says, "When you see water coming out from under the septic cover the best case scenario is a clogged filter".

I look at my husband. He's wearing safety glasses, an N-95 mask, work coveralls, and rubber gloves that covers his arms entirely, almost to his arm pits.

I nod. Yeah, you're right.

New Fridge

Our new refrigerator was delivered last week.

The Man had the old fridge ready to go.

I hope the new fridge lasts for a long, long time. It is very nice.

Clean Out

Drats, our refrigerator died, it was only 13.5 years old. Fortunately we have a Fridge and a Freezer in the garage and The Man put a few things in the Camper's fridge, but we also threw a lot of food away. Too warm, too unsafe to keep.

Cranberry sauce in the freezer had thawed and leaked. It was a mess.

The Man used an air compressor and vacuum cleaner to thoroughly clean the refrigerator base and coils. He used a Code reader and other Whatchamacallit tools to troubleshoot but it doesn't look good. The fridge is on but it's not cooling.

I managed to save the original yogurt starter from Mary and Jon that I received in 2019 as a retirement gift. I kept it in the freezer, I think it is still okay.
