Aw, well, the Tour came to an end on Sunday and I found myself unable to spin everyday.

I stalled while spinning the beautiful "Ultraviolet" colorway on Spindle #11.

 

After "Ultraviolet" there is only one more to go.

Fiber #10: "Deep Space Hand Carded Batt" (50% Merino wool, 10% Corriedale, 10% Shetland, 10% Tussah Silk, 10% Mulberry Silk, 10% Viscose from Bamboo.)

 

  

The Finishers are waiting for the last two Bossie spindles to join them.

 Last night was spent in AC Wonderland in hot and humid Olympia.

 

Millersylvania State Park Campground

 

Today was a fine day: Breakfast pastries in Poulsbo,

 

 

and an earlier time slot on the Washington State ferry from Port Townsend to Coupeville.

 

 

 A very good couple of days.

 

 

Quite an improvement from The Man's first day of travel.

The challenge - for me - was to find some time to spin.

Nope, no spinning yet today. Instead I spent the day making meals and stocked The Man's Camper fridge for another solo road trip.

Fleece in Public

The Fiber Project Display Board is completed and will be displayed at the Mid-State Fair tomorrow.

 

 

At the same time two teams from the Guild will compete with each other in a Sheep to Shawl competition.

They will start with clean (scoured) fleece → prep the fiber with hand cards →  spin singles on spinning wheels  → spin a 2-Ply yarn  → transfer the yarn to weaving bobbins → weave a shawl on a pre-warped 4-shaft loom. At the end of four hours the woven item will be judged. Yeehaw, good luck everyone.
