A week ago I had to euthanize Zeke and Bitsy.
For the last couple of months they've been kept in the pen and fed forage and treats instead of grazing the property. They seemed to enjoy their retirement and receiving three meals a day. The limited activity seemed to help Zeke's aging body systems and Bitsy's severly arthritic joints.
Last Monday though I had to call the Vet when I found Zeke in severe respiratory distress. He was suffering.
And, sadly, it was Bitsy's time as well. Her quality of life was in question.
It was a relief to have their suffering come to an end but so heartbreaking to let them go.
Zeke Feb 2012 - July 2023
Bitsy May 2014 - July 2023
