Hello Nell

Two weeks ago I finally got to meet Nell. She's The Man's, er, our boat.**

We purchased Nell over a year ago and though she's been in California since last August I had not seen her yet. The main reason being Nell is docked in Ventura which is 2½ hours away, a heck of a lot of driving for a day-trip.

Though now with the longer daylight hours The Man agreed we could go for the day. The Marina was having a Swap Meet which I thought might be fun. The Saturday before Father's Day we were on the road headed south.

We pulled into the parking lot at 10:30, the Swap Meet was just a handful of guys with old stuff, nothing we needed or wanted though we did get a donut from the Marina staff for showing up.

Before we headed to the boat The Man gave me a tour of the Marina facilities. The Laundry room and the Women's bathroom were spotless.

The Lounge was temporarily closed for repairs so I wasn't able to check out the lending library or the comfy chairs.

B-Dock you need a key to enter and exit.

Nell! She's a real beauty. Built solid - bigger, beefier, and beamier - than I had imagined.

A home away from home, very cozy.

The galley, V-berth, and head in the foc'sle.

We had our lunch on the aft deck.

We took a walk around the harbor (no boating this time) and before too long it was time to head home.

We got home at 7pm, it was a long day of driving back and forth but I'm glad I finally got to meet the lovely Nell.

**The Man found Nell on Bainbridge Island, Washington (after a year of searching) and we purchased her in April 2022. We took the opportunity to keep the boat in the Pacific Northwest till August 2022 so that The Man could take a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity of exploring the Puget Sound from Olympia to the Canadian border on his boat, Nell.
