Yesterday The Man and I saw four coyotes running together on the ranch next door. At first we thought they were headed to the pond but the pack bypassed it and headed up the big hill.
Moments later groups of deer came running down the hill with the coyotes in hot pursuit.
Fortunately it's not fawning season so the coyotes were chasing deer with strong yearlings.

Today I saw a group of deer grazing and lying about - relaxing - half on our side and the other half on the ranch side.
Except for an occasional and perfunctory chase from Mattie it's pretty safe on our side of the fence.
