yarn: (1) a continuous strand of twisted fibers used in weaving or knitting, (2) a narrative of adventures.
It took four days to ply the singles of ITW "Decidedly So". My spinning plan mentioned plying a traditional 3-ply or .... I went with or.
I spent three days working on a new to me technique: Winding a Chain-Ply plying ball.
Sunday, July 27
The plying ball is essentially a crochet chain of three singles. I ended up wrapping around a quarter instead of the yellow styrofoam ball which was too slick and kept flying out of my hands.
Monday, July 28
A really long (crochet) chain, across the room in fact.
Tuesday, July 29
Plying ball completed, ready for the actual plying (adding twist).
Wednesday, July 30
Plying was super quick, just a little over an hour. Worth it? TBD - to be determined.

Tour de Fleece 2025 (July 5 - July 27) ~ Spin everyday
Tour de Fleece ends tomorrow which, I guess, is a good thing since the joint on my right thumb is starting to complain. (I might have spun a bit too vigorously last night.) Technically I could finish up today but instead I am going to spin the last few yards tomorrow and call it good and done.
Besides the Tour de France Femmes - the Women Cyclists - started their ride today and they will be spinning till Sunday August 3rd. Woohoo, nine more days of spinning, or in my case, nine days of plying.
I started with the Karakul wool and Mohair blend Donna gifted me in March. It was the fiber from her own animals.

I spent the last two days getting Charity Scarves ready to mail: checking each scarf, weaving in ends, and attaching the signed gift tags.
I filled two Large mailing boxes and I thought I was done but - nope - I turned around and there was another full bag behind me.
Fifty-two Comfort Scarves, one hat, and one shawlette ready to go.
