Library e-book |
yarn: (1) a continuous strand of twisted fibers used in weaving or knitting, (2) a narrative of adventures.
Today The Man and I got new Library cards from the Paso Robles City Library.
Paso Robles City Library and SLO County Library System are two separate systems and do not share a Catalog. As a result we now have access to more e-books and audiobooks. Yay.
While in Paso we made sure to take advantage of the unusually warm (81°) weather.
I just finished making charity Scarf Balls to distribute to the Straw Bale Knitters when I see everyone at Spinners' group tomorrow.
Yay, completed kits before 9pm. Last Monday I was still winding late into the night, having spent most of the day plying yarn.
I am not sure why Scarf-in-a-Ball is on Monday's To-Do List. I think I need to find a different day (or an earlier time) to wind Balls.
Instead of doing household chores yesterday I did something else, something better:
I felted eight Flower Bowls. The knitting had been completed - ahem, a while ago - so I wove in the ends and proceeded to do the felting in the kitchen sink with the still new "felting tool" aka plunger.
It took about 80 minutes of plunging and agitating the hot soapy water before the fibers melded together. So beautiful.
The 5 & 6-inch weaving bobbins I use for "storage" bobbins are full of spun singles.
I need to find more so that I can wind off the spindles.
I try not to use the 4-inch bobbins they don't hold enough and I need to save them for weaving.
Only one thing to do: Ply some yarn.
The neighbor's field received a visit from feral hogs last night.
We have not seen any wild pigs yet, just the disturbed landscape they leave behind.
Today I washed eight skeins of donated yarns that I will use to make Scarf balls.
Beautiful wool and silk skeins that just needed a little refresh.
Of course it started to rain but I was able to get the skeins inside just in time.
Maybe tomorrow I will be able to hang them back out in the sun.
For tomorrow's Little Looms Group Potluck (and our dinner tonight) Red Beans and Rice.
Mirepoix of minced onion, sweet red pepper, carrots, celery, and a single garlic clove.
In the Crock Pot for 4+ hours.
