Yesterday, after a morning spent grazing, Bitsy showed up with some of the forage - leaves and twigs - dangling from her beard.
Later in the day I noticed the leaves were still there. As I combed my fingers through her beard my hand came away sticky with pine sap.
From my pocket I took out the folding scissors I carry and gave her a quick trim. The scissors barely managed to cut through Bitsy's thick coarse beard but I was able to remove the sticky mass while she patiently chewed cud.
Today I noticed she's wearing feathers. I like it and it doesn't seem like she minds the new softer look either.
